I’m totally Making a scene

Originally I was going to write about the tedious parts of photography. Stepping through some of the settings or something like that. However, something has been nagging at me that I need to improve on. Let me rephrase that, I am driven to improve on because that I think is where my photo game will really level up. I was looking at some of my black and white lighting pictures and others that I have taken outside around my apartment or on walks, and I can't help but feel like I understand the technical side but I'm missing the story part of photography. There should be a story in the picture or the different aspects should work together to get a message across.
There is nothing wrong with these outdoor shots. But I can do better.

All of these pictures were taken over the course of a few days but as you can see I am starting to try to set a scene. I started trying to set up a frame that makes sense. A rubber duck surrounded by bubbles for example. Or a construction rubber duck with some tools to tell a story of, a work in progress.

This next series is a continuation of experimenting with water and reflections. These photos are a pre-phone app photo process. Just to show how many pictures I took before I got a couple pictures I was happy with. As you will soon see, the bigger the photo the happier I was with it!

In taking some experimental shots I am also learning that technology does its own thing sometimes. Unfortunately, I recently discovered that a photo I wanted to take with water on an umbrella will have to be put off until my camera can connect to Wi-Fi. So that last water shot will have to wait. But live and learn and until then; To be continued!
